BlastBall cancelled

BlastBall has been cancelled for the 2020 spring season and will not be held in July and August for the summer session. We hope to see all of the 4 year olds in T-Ball next year!

2020 Spring Season Cancelled

Dear SVLL families,

Thank you for your patience as we continue to await further direction from our local health and sports authorities. We are pleased to announce that Baseball BC has lifted the suspension of in-person baseball activities subject to return to play guidelines. However, as the Parks Board has yet to provide us with an exact date for our permit, game play is not likely to be resumed any time soon. Due to this uncertainty and the reality that this will no longer resemble our traditional spring season, we have made the difficult decision of declaring our 2020 regular season cancelled.

The good news is that there will be baseball this summer! We are currently planning on offering development-based programming with a target date of early July (development clinics, pitching clinics, practices and potential games, if permitted later). This will be carried out under clearly defined safety protocols, as set down by ViaSport and Baseball BC. At this time, we are confident that programming can be offered from the Rookie level upward. We are exploring how we can realistically and safely have programming for T-Ball and hope to have a decision soon.

We are asking all families to access this link https://forms.gle/sYKxWrHFFRaVjuH19 to indicate their intentions for the summer. For those who wish to participate in summer programming, a minimum 50% contribution of your 2020 registration fee is required and the remainder will be refunded to you. There will also be an option to withdraw while making a non tax-deductible contribution of part or all of your 2020 registration fee to SVLL or to withdraw with a full refund.

We fully understand that this has been a challenging time for all SVLL families, and we are grateful for your patience and loyalty. The reason for welcoming contributions is that we have incurred unrecoverable costs related to preparing for the season (equipment, insurance, storage costs). Your support, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated in helping our volunteers continue to operate our league with a healthy budget for years to come.

Once again thank you all very much for your patience and support through these unprecedented times. It has been absolutely amazing to see our baseball community come together despite being apart through all the uncertainty. We look forward to seeing you at the park this summer!
