Mount Seymour Majors Tournament 2009
Congratulations to the South Van Yankees, placing 4th in the 2009 Mount Seymour Majors Tournament.
Highlights of the tournament:
- 12-10 win against Forest Hills Delaney’s, coming back from a 5-10 deficit.
- 9-8 win against Mt. Seymour Twins, with a grand slam by Brandon Bourke and Brandon Kingsbury striking out the final batter with the bases loaded.
- 2-11 loss against Little Mountain, with Justin Maunahan pitching 6 innings with only 4 runs.
- 2-3 loss against North Van Central Royals placing the Yankees 4th in the tournament. Hits were hard to come by, and Brandon Bourke had a home run. Patrick Mansobre pitched 6 innings holding off the Royals to the bottom of the 6th.
South Vancouver was the only team to earn medals in all 4 skills competitions!
- Oscar Haley 2nd place in base running.
- Justin Maunahan, Brandon Kingsbury, Jerome Hatud, and Michael Balshaw 2nd place in the throwing relay.
- Patrick Mansobre 2nd place and Anthony Bartel 3rd place in pitching accuracy.
- Brandon Bourke 2nd place in the home run derby.
